CuCr1Zr
SLM / Metal · Copper · Copper alloy
Pure copper reaches excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, but lacks the strength for load-bearing or structural applications. Additional alloying elements improve its mechanical properties through precipitation hardening; Cr and Zr help hold high strength and hardness even at elevated temperatures, which makes CuCr1Zr suitable for rocket engines.
